History:

In 1990 the Eddie Reid Memorial Library was started by Don and Joan McLellan with some s they donated and financial assistance from the Lions. It was run by 7 volunteers and was given $500 per year from Saturna Community Club. In 1995 it became a "Reading Room", which entitled it to a Provincial grant. Over the years the number of volunteers increased and there are currently 25.

Considerably more funding now comes from tax revenues resulting in an ability to purchase many more s. There is also a Large Print selection, some 'talking s' on tapes and CDs and a growing Video section. As well, a computer is a available free of charge to patrons.
