Saturna Island Racing Rules (S.I.R.R.)

1. Fleet Captain must be addressed as SIRR!

2. All yachts will avoid bumping into each other, the shore or any other obstructions.

3. Unsporting or improper competitive behavior will be penalized. (This may include any over emphasis on fancy go-fast equipment or over-qualified crew.)

4. Actions taken which increase the enjoyment of the race for crewmembers, competitors or spectators will improve that yachts standing (and vice-versa).

5. All captains are members of the race committee.

6. At the Post Race Cocktails, Excuses and Un-believable Claims Meeting captains may plead their ships case but can not vote for their own ship.

7. The Fleet Captain is entitled to decide who has won after hearing all accounts, claims, yarns, excuses and after reviewing the fleet’s popular vote.

8. Flogging, keelhauling and hanging from the yardarm requires unanimous support of the race committee.
