SPOON RIVER ANTHOLOGY By Edgar Lee Masters, Arranged by Seamus Fera, directed by Michael Fera and featuring Nancy Angermeyer, Ryan Dentry, Tanja Dixon-Warren, Seamus Fera, Isabella Halladay, Tony Simmonds and Laura White. All things audio and technical provided by Robert Montgomery.

Edgar Lee Master’s poems are brought to life in an immersive portrait of early 20th-century rural life as Spoon River's residents raise their voices - telling of loves, losses, and hard-earned truths. This mystical, musical play features a series of snapshots portraying 51 characters from 53 poems of Masters’ anthology.

Set in the fictional, small Midwestern town of Spoon River, the collection includes two hundred and twelve separate characters, all providing two-hundred forty-four accounts of their lives, losses, and manner of death. For this adaptation, we chose characters for their relevance today. Seamus Fera’s adaptation is not the usual play with a beginning, middle and end but instead features a series of biographical sketches from Masters’ anthology arranged around themes such love, loss, lies and layers of humanity.

Tickets $20 at the door.
