Bev has a home in Winter Cove under a double-crested cormorant roost. More than 100 of these prehistoric-looking birds roost in the trees in her front yard, bringing their primal rhythm home every evening. It’s a fascinating phenomenon and a fortunate place for Bev, who is a naturalist and has spent her lifetime contributing to park creation, birding and citizen science projects.
The event will start at the Community Hall with a presentation about double-crested cormorants, then move to Winter Cove to experience the roost at twilight, weather permitting. Some transportation will be provided for those who need it.
Please dress warm.
