Summer night outdoor experience. Learn about the state of jelly fish in the oceans from Dr. Lucas Brotz — an expert on the subject. Then see a new art projection on FAB by Allison Moore.

Talk by Dr. Lucas Brotz, Scientist, UBC

Jellyfish populations are increasing in numerous ecosystems around the globe. Not surprisingly, these increases are not uniform across time and space. So why are jellyfish increasing in some places and not others? What are the consequences for humans and ecosystems? And what, if anything, can we do to manage or prevent increasing jellyfish blooms? Lucas will tell us about the current research and theories about jellyfish.

Art Videomap Projection by: Allison Moore, Visual Artist, Montreal

Deeply inspired by Saturna from an early age, Allison will show a new video mapping artwork specifically focused on the ocean and jellyfish. In recent years, Allison’s major works have been shown in Quebec, Tokyo and Saturna.
